Orangutan Habitat
Orangutan Habitat - the danger of Illegal logging
Illegal logging is the most obvious threat. It takes many forms and varies in affected areas, but the effects remain the same. Eliminates logging-dependent orang-utans, a threat to the existence of these great apes, as well as thousands of other plants, birds, mammals and insects. We are all part of the problem with our demand for hardwood, but we can act responsibly and only buy the stamp of FSC timber. The Forest Stewardship Council has established a system of labelling of forest products, which provides a credible guarantee that the product comes from good management of forests. All forest products bearing the FSC logo have been independently certified as coming from sustainable forests that meet the internationally recognized FSC principles and criteria for forest management.
